As posted way back when, I picked up 3 CSM Rhinos at my LFGS for an absolute steal, hoping that I could convert successfully convert them. I decided to make them all dual purpose looted wagons by allowing the Boom Guns to be removed and let the wagons run open-topped when needed. I have enough Trukks to really never need the wagons to be in open-topped mode, but you never really know, and I like the idea of a vehicle mounted skorcha running amok on the table. My goal is to magnetize as much as possible so swapping roles on the fly will be a breeze. If I can find another lot of Rhinos for the right price, I wouldn’t be opposed to making dedicated Boom Wagons and Transport Wagons, but I’m in no rush.
For my first Looted Wagon, here are the specs:
- CSM Rhino
- Trukk cab + driver
- Extended / custom exhaust pipes
- Top ‘command’ deck with wooden side rails
- Armor plates added to the deck, rear and side.
- Looted Necron Doomsday Cannon
- 2 x Side sponsons
- 2 x Big Shootas from the BW kit

The next two are up in the air. I like the Doomsday Cannon so much that I think I’ll use it for another wagon. For the third Boom Wagon, I plan on using the turret and cannon from the BW kit, utilizing the turret mount plate from a SM Predator tank. So far, I’m having a blast converting and plan to do a whole lot more… maybe even a Dakka Jet conversion!
